The "Deadpan, or, The Holy Toast" was a collaboration with artist Paul Hertz. De la Serra developed the topological underpinnings of the series ("seventeen different ways of biting a piece of toast") and the software for generating the texts. Hertz contributed the 3D imaging and texture maps. At this time, de la Serra considered herself more engineer than artist, consequently, only Hertz signed the work. |
